| Some find them annoying and some are just like them. The generational portrait and comedy EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL is the story of a new friendship between two European immigrants, Maria and Lena, spanning one intense week of New York summer. They try to break out of their passiveness and explore what it means to find true happiness by testing the limits of their freedom and friendship. Living a life without financial burdens, German-born Lena becomes increasingly bored with her seemingly carefree life in her beautiful Brooklyn apartment. Maria, a former Greek soap opera star, now waiting tables, mourns her unfulfilled dreams of being an actress in New York while feeling the pressure of settling down in a traditional married life, despite her preference for short-lived affairs. Everything could be wonderful, but somehow it isn't. | ||
